Stay-home Saturday (if I could)
It's raining cats and dogs outside right now. There's going to be an SGH annual dinner held at Suntec City later. I actually planned on going out a little earlier so that I can pop by MPH along the way to check out some books. The rain is putting that on hold.
I worked today from 8.30am to 1pm. It was a slack morning, with not many cases, and many being 'CXR'. I had a good time 'bonding' with the other RGs, especially those Filipinos. I also talked to Geanet and she's applied to work at another hospital and also another country. If both applications do not get through, she would go back to Philippines. Hence, she did not wish to divulge any information right at the moment as to whcih hospital or country. She did not wish to go back home, for whatever reasons I did not ask. It seems like she likes to travel to work, but there seems to be another underlying reason/s why she did not want to go home. I did not probe. Probably poverty. Well, same as me in a sort of way, how I wish to go overseas to work and travel. To escape from home.
It's smooth and quiet at the moment at home, but beneath all these, I wonder when the volcano will erupt again. I am simply taking things as the day goes by. It's 2006 soon. Time to set new resolutions and targets.
Adios. Gotta go and prepare to go out now. Meeting some other colleagues outside Suntec Starbucks at 7pm.
P/S: I have not been at home on a Saturday afternoon for God-knows how many Saturdays. It feels good to be home on a lazy afternoon without the crowd and madness everywhere else. I feel so lazy to go out on this cool evening... :p
Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways. ~Stephen Vincent Benét
