Rain! whose soft architectural hands have power to cut stones, and chisel to shapes of grandeur the very mountains. ~Henry Ward Beecher
The day has been cool after a passing rain cloud showered itself onto CCK at aroung 12pm in the afternoon earlier. I woke up rather late at 9am(?!) after a tiring day out yesterday. I had a great time with 2 good friends hiking in the East! Yeah, we went exploring and walking the park connectors in the East! After which, we ended up swimming, eating dinner and relaxing in the evening at LL's condo. Great day out! Totally enjoyed myself man! I shall blog about this with photos included later.
I went running after breakfast at 10.55am despite the mental fatigue that I was feeling. The 2 nights of night shift kind of taken their toll on me. Actually, it was the 2nd night when it was terribly busy. Compared to the 1st night when I went out on the 'Portable' rounds for only 3 times the entire night, I went out for 6X on the 2nd night!!! And to make things worse, the cases were not that many each time, but urgent case on 4 out of the 6 times we went out. And it's also due to the fact that O.T. had cases that I had to attend to! 2 cases somemore! I could not stay in there after the 1st case which lasted from 1145pm to 130am cuz there was urgent cases of 'Portable' and I had to change out of everything and then make my way back to IPS to do the 'Portable'. Just as I was done with the 'Portable' cases, and sat down to relax for a while, OT called again and I had to make my way there from 245am to 330am. Yeah in the wee hours of the morning when everyone was asleep and I had to push my body into overtime work. It was nothing like the 1st night when I had so much time to sit down and take nps at the front counter desk! I finally had time to relax at 4am and was dead beat.
Anyway, my body is still tired after this sudden switch of timing and it needs time to recover. Tonight marks the 3rd and final night of night shift for me for this week and I'm going to report for work at 9pm later again.
Yup, bnack to my run. I did a surprisingly long run of 1hour 40min today. Went slow and even paused and jogged on the spot at times after running up slopes cuz I was SO TIRED! Still pretty proud of myself for having done a long run. I had wanted to go for an evening run at perhaps 4-6pm but the reason why I went in the morning was so that I could take a nap in the afternoon! But, well, I did not! ARGH! The weather is so good and I spent time reading the papers, pondering over some issues and coming online at 6pm. Tsk tsk. I'm just gonna cross my fingers praying that I will not be that unlucky like the 2nd night!
It turned really cloudy and the sun was hidden behind the clouds for most part of my run. Great. It was windy most of the time too and even rained at almost the end of my run. A drizzle. I continued. I have not ran in the rain for a long time and it felt good to be so close to Nature and experiencing all that it had to offer for my time of solitude to myself...
It's 7.30! Gotta go grab a light bite and make my way to work! Brrr...... Chilly evening!
"Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather. " ~John Ruskin
