Natural disasters abound...

8.35pm: Oh dear... Just watched the documentary 'Odyssey--A Species' Journey' on Channel Newsasia and they had updates on the Pakistani earthquake every half hour. If I did not hear Timothy Goh wrongly, it seems like the dead numbers around 90,000?! Oh my gosh... That's truly a terrible catastrophe to befall on the country.

When I 1st got news of it last night, it immediately reminded me of the earthquake in Bam, Iran and of the tsunami that struck S.E.A and South Asia last Dec. Coincidentally, both of these catastrophes fell on the same day. 26th Dec, only one year apart. Sigh. A disturbing thought arose in my mind. What if an earthquake happens in Iran? I would be so worried dead for my friends. The friends and people that I have met there and known and made a difference in my life. I already do not feel good hearing about Pakistan, for I have heard so many good things about the country from other fellow backpackers and it's actually my next destination that I would love to go for a long trip. I feel so sick in my stomach now...

No wonder I did not feel in the best of moods for the past week. A premonition perhaps? Work was not very busy and there was a good student attached to me in the week. Perhaps just feeling tired from the workouts that I have been doing after my wisdom tooth extraction. Body needed to readjust itself to accommodate the heavy 'workload' that I have given it once again. Or maybe, it's just because my period was coming. Yeah, it's here now actually.

I am going to catch the 9pm news on CNA. They are going to have the full report on the rescue efforts.

Sigh. Earthquakes. Tsunami last Dec. Hurricanes last month. Hurricane this month again hitting Central and South America. 1st bird flu case found in guess where? TURKEY!?!? Dengue in this region of S.E.A. Seems like the whole world is going berserk. Nowhere is safe from anything. NOWHERE! It?s all Man?s own doings... Now Nature is unleashing its fury and taking its vengeance...

Maybe I should just pack my bag and make my way to the Arctic Circle... There's my favourite Siberian Huskies there... Hah!
